Right now our Tacoma Operations Center is seeking a Full Time Box Truck Driver!
The Box Truck Driver will load their truck and drive it to different locations
delivering products.
Salary: $16.00 – $18.00 Per Hour – DOE
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Box Truck Driver responsibilities Includes the following and other duties as assigned:
- Carries, hauls and sorts donated items into truck
- Delivers donated items to Goodwill locations, interacting with co-workers in a cordial manner
- Prior delivery truck driving experience.
- Ability to utilize a GPS device or read a county road atlas.
Customer Service
Provide excellent customer service while interacting with donors and community members.
Record Keeping and Reporting
Ability to read work orders, provide written and verbal reporting, and issues donation receipts to Goodwill donors.
Operation Safety
Follows rules of the road and drives truck safely while following proper procedures.
Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:
- Acceptable driving record; No DUIs, and no more than 3 moving violations in the last year
- Must have and maintain a valid WA state driver’s license
- High school graduate or GED
- Exceptional analytical, judgment, decision-making and communications skills
- Superior coaching, leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build understanding and consensus
Supervisory Responsibilities: Not required for this position.
Cultural Competency: Demonstrate cultural competence; specifically, awareness, attitude, knowledge, willingness and skills to work effectively with a culturally and demographically diverse population
Language Skills: Ability effectively communicate with other members of the team.
Mathematical Skills: Must be able to do simple math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Computer Skills: Not required for this position.
Other Skills and Abilities: Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of a Box Truck Driver.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Washington State Driver’s License required and an acceptable driving history.
Other Qualifications: Self-motivated; resourceful, creative; high integrity; problem solver; looks to resolve issues; positive can-do approach; and ability to build effective working relationships.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to drive, sit, and stand. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and team lift 200 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
