Full-Time Billing Manager

As a Billing Manager at Thompson Coburn LLP, you will play a pivotal role in our financial operations. Reporting to the Revenue Management Director, you will oversee billing services, ensuring accurate and efficient billing processes for our clients, attorneys, and legal support staff. This position is eligible for a hybrid-remote work schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of billing, including billing policies and procedures.
- Ensures invoices are timely, accurate, and complete by the customer’s guidelines and expectations. Collaborate with other departments to ensure billing accuracy.
- Understands the technical aspects of billing software/programs. Identifies and suggests opportunities for process improvement in all billing procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy on an ongoing basis.
- Takes a proactive approach to reduce/eliminate invoice rejections and reductions.
- Applies effective problem-solving abilities to address billing discrepancies and resolve client inquiries.
- Trains and mentors employees within the billing and e-billing department.
- Reviews and evaluates the performance and work of the billing team, as well as prepares performance evaluations and recommends compensation adjustments.
- Must be able to meet tight deadlines, multi-task, have excellent organizational skills and strong leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field preferred.
- A minimum of two (2) years of billing experience in a large company environment is required, preferably in a legal or other professional services company.
- A minimum of four two (2) years in a management role, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.
- Experience with Aderant accounting software preferred.
