Position Summary:
Trupanion is seeking a Bilingual Claims Analyst to join our skilled and passionate Claims Team, with an emphasis on supporting our growing clientele and operations in Quebec, Canada.
This position is responsible for adjudicating pet medical claims by reviewing medical records, claim forms, and related invoices to make eligible/ineligible claim decisions. Additionally, candidates will perform claim audits, and payment validation reviews, and will assist with problem-solving and making recommendations to support accurate and consistent claims adjudication across all Claims Teams and geographies.
Candidates for this position have the option to work remotely from anywhere in Canada.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Reviewing supporting documentation to make claim outcome decisions as aligned with the Trupanion policy, including complex claims situations
- Working with Claims Department team members and managers to support an exceptional experience for customers and the veterinary clinics related to claims adjudicated, including resolving and preventing claim errors
- Assisting with the design, preparation, review, and tracking of claim payment verification audits and acting on their outcomes
- Assist with internal and external auditing of all Trupanion products
- Translation and transcription of medical records and client/third party communications between French and English
- Achieve and maintain a high level of accuracy and productivity
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience adjudicating damage insurance claims
- 1+ years of experience providing customer service over the phone
- Strong preference is given to candidates with experience adjudicating pet medical insurance claims or working in a veterinary clinic
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Strong desire to contribute to an evolving team and shared goals around group performance
- A problem-solver and highly adaptable
- Ability to thrive in a rapidly scaling organization and is an effective communicator (both written and spoken)
- Proficiency with technology, especially Microsoft Office applications, web-based apps, and PC platform
- Desire to collaborate, develop and perform a wide variety of processes over time
- Ability to keep pace with frequent changes in processes or protocol with immediate implementation
Education, Registration & Certification:
- Bilingual in French and English (Required)
- Damage Insurance Claims Adjuster license (Personal-Lines) in Quebec (Required)
