Full-Time Automotive Mechanic / Repair Technician II – NEW HIGHER PAY!
Job Description
- Perform semi-skilled and skilled work on small engines, automotive, heavy equipment and/or marine mechanics.
- Service, inspect, repair, rebuild, and diagnose mechanical systems for gasoline, diesel, and alternative-powered engines/equipment.
- Perform equipment/automotive work ranging from inspection and service to highly complex mechanical.
- Conduct systems analysis using advanced diagnostic instruments and software.
- Conduct parts/systems failure analysis.
- Calibrate, adjust, and operate engine analyzers.
- Apply standard operational guidelines, shop safety procedures, and use vendor manuals/manufacturer publications/bulletins.
- Apply your technical knowledge and skills.
- Occasionally modify standard practice and procedures due to unusual situations.
- Routinely determine materials, techniques, and tools to accomplish work assignments.
- Prepare and maintain paperwork relating to employment, equipment repair, inventory, and service records.
- Move parts and materials to repair and maintain equipment.
- Safely operate equipment for testing.
- Preventative maintenance experience on at least of one of the following: light, medium, heavy-duty trucks, and heavy equipment.
- Diagnostics experience in basic electrical systems and proper wiring repairs.
- Basic hydraulic system repair experience including component replacement and hoses.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing at least one of the following: light, medium, heavy duty, or farm equipment brake components.
- Knowledge of diagnostic software, tools, and equipment for trucks and heavy equipment.
- A passion for a safe work environment with the ability to meet all safety regulations and lead by example.
- Communication skills to understand written and verbal instructions.
- A Class A Commercial Driver’s License with N endorsement. (Note: If you don’t have this you can get it through on-the-job training within 360 days of hire.)
- Ability to read and interpret Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals.
- The job requires work during adverse weather events such as snow, ice, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. that can lead to working extended daily hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Safety toe shoes are required.
- We will conduct a pre-employment drug testing and do a background check with your previous employers for the past 2 years about controlled substances and alcohol testing.
- We may require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III, or Universal Technician.
- High School/GED diploma, and
- 2+ years of relevant experience, or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
