Job Description
- Service, repair, rebuild, and diagnose mechanical systems for gas/diesel-powered automotive, heavy equipment, and power tools.
- Operate a motor vehicle & fuel truck.
- Operate a fuel truck.
- Perform skilled mechanical work including the following systems:
- Preventive maintenance
- Tires and tubes
- Wheels
- Rims
- Cranking systems
- Lighting systems
- Cooling systems
- Fuel systems
- Hydraulics
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License with Tanker (N) endorsement. (If you don’t have this, still apply! You can get it within 360 days of hire through our on-the-job training program).
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing 1+ of the following: light, medium, heavy duty, or farm equipment brake components.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance on 1+ of the following: light, medium, heavy duty truck, or heavy equipment.
- Diagnostics experience with basic electrical systems and proper wiring repairs.
- Basic hydraulic system repair experience, including component replacement and hoses.
- Knowledge of diagnostic software, tools, and equipment for trucks and heavy equipment.
- Steel toe safety shoes.
- Ability to work in emergency situations and bad weather, such as snow, ice, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. that may lead to working extended daily hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to perform work meeting all safety regulations.
- Ability to prepare and maintain paperwork related to employment, equipment repair, inventory, and service records.
- You can understand written and verbal instructions.
- Strength and agility to move parts and materials to repair and maintain equipment.
- You can safely operate equipment for testing purposes.
- Demonstrated commitment to a safe working environment by leading by example.
- Ability to read and interpret Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals.
- We will conduct a pre-employment drug screening and background check for your past 2 years about controlled substances and alcohol testing.
- We may require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III, or Universal Technician.
- High School/GED diploma, and
- 2+ years of relevant experience, or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
