The Challenge
We are looking for a skilled mechanic II to join our Shallotte Equipment team.
In this role you will:
    • Perform skilled mechanic work involving servicing and repairs that vary in complexity depending on the type of mechanical system.
    • Perform skilled mechanic work, including prevent maintenance, work on tires, tubes, wheels and rims, cranking systems, lighting systems, cooling systems, fuel systems, and hydraulic systems.
  
What You Bring
    • Experience troubleshooting and repairing 1+ of the following: light, medium, heavy duty, or farm equipment brake components.
    • Experience performing preventive maintenance on 1+ of the following: light, medium, heavy duty truck, and heavy equipment.
    • Diagnostics experience on basic electrical systems and proper wiring repairs.
    • Basic hydraulic system repair experience, including component replacement and hoses.
    • Knowledge of diagnostic software, tools, and equipment for trucks and heavy equipment.
    • Ability to work during any bad weather, such as snow, ice, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. that may lead to working extended daily hours, weekends, and holidays.
    • Ability to work in accordance with all safety regulations.
    • Organization skills to prepare and maintain paperwork related to employment, equipment repair, inventory, and service records.
    • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
    • Strength and agility to move parts and materials to repair and maintain equipment.
    • Ability to safely operate equipment for testing purposes.
    • Ability to demonstrate commitment to provide safe working environment by leading by example.
    • Ability to read and interpret Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals.
    • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
    • A Class A Commercial Driver’s License with Tanker (N )endorsement. (Don’t have it? Still apply!  You can earn it through our on-the-job training program within 360 days of hire.)
    • Safety toe shoes.
Notes
    • A pre-employment drug screening is required, and we will conduct a background check for your past 2 years about controlled substances and alcohol testing.
    • When needed, we will need you to work in emergency situations and bad weather.
    • We may require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III, or Universal Technician.
 
Education & Experience
    • High School/GED diploma, and
    • 2+ years of relevant experience, or
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
