Full-Time Automotive Mechanic II
Job Description
- Perform skilled mechanic work involving servicing and repairs that vary in complexity depending on the type of mechanical system.
- Perform skilled mechanic work, including prevent maintenance, work on tires, tubes, wheels and rims, cranking systems, lighting systems, cooling systems, fuel systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing 1+ of the following: light, medium, heavy duty, or farm equipment brake components.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance on 1+ of the following: light, medium, heavy duty truck, and heavy equipment.
- Diagnostics experience on basic electrical systems and proper wiring repairs.
- Basic hydraulic system repair experience, including component replacement and hoses.
- Knowledge of diagnostic software, tools, and equipment for trucks and heavy equipment.
- Ability to work during any bad weather, such as snow, ice, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. that may lead to working extended daily hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work in accordance with all safety regulations.
- Organization skills to prepare and maintain paperwork related to employment, equipment repair, inventory, and service records.
- Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
- Strength and agility to move parts and materials to repair and maintain equipment.
- Ability to safely operate equipment for testing purposes.
- Ability to demonstrate commitment to provide safe working environment by leading by example.
- Ability to read and interpret Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals.
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
- A Class A Commercial Driver’s License with Tanker (N )endorsement. (Don’t have it? Still apply! You can earn it through our on-the-job training program within 360 days of hire.)
- Safety toe shoes.
- A pre-employment drug screening is required, and we will conduct a background check for your past 2 years about controlled substances and alcohol testing.
- When needed, we will need you to work in emergency situations and bad weather.
- We may require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III, or Universal Technician.
- High School/GED diploma, and
- 2+ years of relevant experience, or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
