Full-Time Automotive Mechanic / Equipment Repair Technician III – HIGHER PAY!
Job Description
- Serve as our lead worker and perform semi-skilled and skilled small engine, automotive, heavy equipment, and tire repair work.
- Assist as a fill-in for our shop supervisor in his absence.
- Perform progressively responsible tasks involving the service, inspection, repair, rebuild, and diagnosis mechanical systems for gasoline, diesel, and alternative powered engines/equipment.
- Perform skilled mechanic work ranging from inspection and service to highly complex mechanical and electrical systems analysis using advanced diagnostic instruments and software.
- Conduct parts/systems failure analysis.
- Calibrate, adjust, and operate engine diagnostic tools.
- Ensure standard operational guidelines and shop safety procedures.
- Read vendor manuals and manufacturer publications and bulletins.
- Apply your technical knowledge and skills, occasionally modifying standard practice and procedures due to unusual situations.
- Routinely determine materials, techniques, and tools to accomplish work assignments, often as a team lead role with limited to no direct supervision.
- Perform work assignments varying in complexity depending on the type of mechanical system and ancillary components/equipment.
- Receive assignments as written or verbal work orders, indicating the general nature of the task or description of the problem.
- Lead new or unusual assignments that may be accompanied by more detailed instructions.
- Heating and A/C repair experience including electronic and vacuum controls.
- Electrical/electronic diagnostics and repair of complex wiring experience on 2+ of the following: light, medium, heavy duty trucks, and heavy equipment.
- Experience performing hydraulic system diagnostics, repairs, and rebuilds on a variety of equipment.
- Troubleshooting and repair experience on 2+ of the following: light, medium, heavy duty or farm equipment brake components.
- Experience troubleshooting complex electrical/electronic systems.
- Ability to follow instructions, apply techniques, principles, and methods involved in determining and solving basic mechanical problems.
- Ability to use tools, instruments, and machines in automotive/equipment shop.
- Ability to diagnose and provide service/repairs/repairs/replacements to basic vehicular equipment.
- Ability to work in an indoor/outdoor environment.
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License. (Note: If you don’t have this, still apply! You can get it through our on-the-job training within 360 days of hire).
- We require a pre-employment drug test and will conduct a background check with your previous employers for the past 3 years for controlled substance and alcohol testing.
- High School/GED diploma, and
- 3+ years of relevant experience, or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
