Full-Time Automotive Mechanic / Equipment Repair Technician II – New Higher Pay!
Job Description
- Perform semi-skilled and skilled small engine, automotive, heavy equipment, and mechanic work.
- Service, diagnose, repair, and rebuild mechanical systems for gasoline/diesel-powered automotive and heavy equipment.
- Perform mechanic work at various levels. Work assignments vary in complexity depending on the type of mechanical system.
- Prepare paperwork for employment and equipment repair.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance on at least one of the following: light, medium, heavy duty trucks, and/or heavy equipment.
- A complete set of mechanic tools.
- Commercial Driver’s License. (If you don’t have it, you can gain it through our on-the-job training. It’s required within 360 days of hire.)
- Experience diagnosing basic electrical systems and performing proper wiring repairs.
- Experience in basic hydraulic system repairs including component and hose replacements.
- Knowledge of diagnostic software, tools, and equipment for trucks and heavy equipment.
- Experience in the diagnosis and repairs of manual transmission components.
- Ability to repair and maintain automotive and heavy equipment and diagnose problems using diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
- Strength to safely lift and move heavy objects, parts, and materials necessary to repair and maintain equipment.
- Ability to safely operate equipment for testing purposes.
- Ability to work in an indoor and outdoor environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to a safe working environment by leading by example.
- Ability to read and interpret Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals, read schematics, diagrams, and sketches.
- A pre-employment drug screening is required.
- We will conduct a background check for your past 2 years about controlled substances and alcohol testing.
- Safety toe footwear is required within 30 days of hire.
- We may require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III, or Universal Technician.
- High School/GED diploma, and
- 2+ years of relevant experience, or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
