Full-Time Automotive Mechanic/Equipment Repair Technician II – 2 Openings!
Job Description
- Perform skilled mechanic work involving services and repair of mechanical systems of gasoline/diesel powered automotive and heavy equipment.
- Perform mechanic work at various levels. Work assignments vary in complexity depending on the type of mechanical system.
- Diagnose, repair, and do preventive maintenance on tires, tubes, wheel & rims, cranking systems, lighting systems, cooling systems, fuel system, and hydraulic systems.
- Prepare paperwork for employment and equipment repair.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance on 1+ of the following: light, medium, heavy duty trucks, or heavy equipment.
- A complete set of mechanic tools.
- Experience diagnosing basic electrical systems and proper wiring repairs.
- Basic hydraulic system repair experience including component replacement and hoses.
- Knowledge of diagnostic software, tools, and equipment for trucks and heavy equipment.
- Manual transmission component diagnosis and repair experience.
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License with Tanker “N” endorsement. (If you don’t have it, you can gain it through our on-the-job training within 360 days of hire.)
- Ability to repair and maintain automotive and heavy equipment, and diagnose problems using diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
- Strength to move relatively heavy objects, parts, and materials to repair and maintain equipment.
- Ability to safely operate equipment for testing purposes.
- Ability to work in an indoor and outdoor environment.
- Commitment to providing a safe working environment by leading by example.
- Ability to read and interpret Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals.
- Ability to read schematics, diagrams, and sketches.
- Safety toe shoes.
- We will conduct a pre-employment drug test and background check for your past 2 years about controlled substances and alcohol testing.
- We may require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III, or Universal Technician.
- High School/GED diploma, and
- 2+ years of relevant experience, or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
