The Challenge
We are looking for 2 skilled automotive mechanic/vehicle equipment repair technician II’s to join our Carthage Equipment team. In this role, you will perform skilled mechanic work involving the service, rebuild, and diagnosis of mechanical systems for gasoline & diesel powered automotive and heavy equipment.
 
What You Bring
    • A complete set of mechanic tools.
    • Experience performing preventive maintenance on 1+ of the following: light, medium, heavy-duty trucks, or heavy equipment.
    • Diagnostics experience on basic electrical systems and proper wiring repairs.
    • Basic hydraulic system repair experience including component replacement and hoses.
    • Troubleshooting and repair experience on 1+ of the following: light, medium, heavy duty, or farm equipment brake components.
    • Knowledge of diagnostic software, tools, and equipment for trucks and heavy equipment.
    • Ability to perform skilled mechanic work on equipment, including Preventive Maintenance, A/C, Heating & Ventilation, Brake, Steering, Tires, Tubes, Liners & Valves, Wheels, Rims, Hubs & Bearings, Clutch, Transmission-Main (Manual), Charging Systems, Cranking Systems, Ignition Systems, Lighting Systems, Cooling Systems, Exhaust Systems, Fuel Systems, Power Plant, Horn & Mounting & Reverse signal alarm, and Hydraulic Systems.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of the methods, practices, procedures, principles & operation of internal combustion engines.
    • Working knowledge of the methods of servicing, repairing, rebuilding & diagnosing depending on the type of mechanic system.
    • Skills operating automotive and heavy equipment and the methods to be used in the repair.
    • Ability to read and comprehend shop and repair manuals.
    • Strength & dexterity to move heavy objects.
    • Experience preferred on Instruments, gauges, warning & shutdown, and Power take-off.
    • A Commercial Driver’s License. (Note: If you don’t have this you can get it through on-the-job training within 360 days of hire.)
 
Notes
    • Safety toe footwear is required.
    • We may require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III, or Universal Technician.
    • We will conduct an pre-employment drug test and check with your employers over the past 2 years about controlled substance and alcohol testing.
 
Education & Experience
    • High School/GED diploma, and
    • 2+ years of relevant experience, or
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
