Full-Time Attorney V
Job Description
The CalSTRS Office of General Counsel is seeking a motivated individual to work as an Attorney V on the Pension Solutions team.
Under direction of the General Counsel, the Attorney V independently reviews, evaluates and opines upon the most difficult, complex and high-profile and sensitive legal issues for the second largest public pension fund in the United States, including interpretation and application of the Education Code on the most difficult, complex, challenging and sensitive legal matters.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- Ability to apply excellent time management skills used for efficient completion of projects; prioritize competing assignments; and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to set priorities, effectively manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines within challenging and strict time constraints.
- Ability to offer succinct, value-added recommendations, exercise sound judgment, and make effective decisions, and make clear and concise recommendations.
- Strong commitment to delivering quality service and providing options to customers with diplomacy.
- Able to work collaboratively with technical staff, project managers and business area subject matter experts.
- Ability to analyze complex programs, documents, and government code, and provide clear and concise written communication.
- Pension plan experience, including investment and technology services.
Telework Information: We offer a hybrid approach including in-office and remote work solutions with staff working on-site at our Headquarters in West Sacramento 2-3 days per week.
