About the role
We are looking for a communications professional with experience in advocacy or social change campaigning. You will help our clients build purposeful, impactful communications across owned and earned channels. In this role you will help build a new kind of organisation aiming to become a global leader in the social purpose sector.
About you
You will be a creative, enthusiastic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking for an opportunity to develop your career in social purpose by working on a variety of projects from the business and not-for-profit sectors. You will work closely with members of the team in a collaborative environment.
You understand what makes good communications and how to drive impactful
campaigns. You also demonstrate a flair for creative thinking, attention to detail and project management. You will be intellectually curious about the big issues of the day such as climate change, racial and gender equality, the future of capitalism, health and education, and you’ll be able to communicate your views effectively. For the Associate role we are looking for someone with 1-2 years experience in a social purpose environment; a Senior Associate would typically have 3-5 years experience.
More specifically, day-to-day you will:
- Research the issues behind our clients’ campaigns, across areas including diversity, equity and inclusion, education, health, climate change and social mobility
- Support the team in developing impactful communications campaigns, including narrative development, internal and external communications strategies, and creative concepts
- Develop messaging that is clear, concise and persuasive for digital channels, including website and social media
- Support on account and project management for a broad range of clients
- Liaise with clients, developing and maintaining strong professional relationships
- Write various documents including new business proposals, advice notes, press releases, blogs and digital content
- Manage relationships with key freelancers and partner agencies where necessary
The ideal candidate for this role will have/be:
- Experience in campaigning or developing communications for social change causes, either at a charity or values-led organisation
- Experience and skills in creating campaign content, content plans and social media strategies
- A creative and strategic thinker
- Highly organised with attention to detail
- A team player – collaborative and non-hierarchical, who gets stuck in
- Keen to make your mark and use your initiative to help build a team and a brand
- A flexible approach to work, with the ability to attend evening and weekend events
- Exceptional written and verbal skills
What we offer:
- Salary: Associate £26,500 – £29,999/ Senior Associate £30,000 – £42,799 depending on experience
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (we also offer a bonus day on your birthday and we close the office over the Christmas period and offer paid leave for religious holidays)
