We are looking for a highly motivated Associate Optics Manufacturing Engineer to join our team!
In this role you will work in our Optics Manufacturing group to apply engineering techniques and methodology to align and maintain optical systems for life sciences applications. You will also work towards the development of manufacturing instructions from predefined methods and drawings to assemble, align, optimize and test optical components, assemblies, and sub-systems.
How You’ll Contribute
- Hands on support of integration, alignment, and testing activities for bring-up of instruments or sub-systems, focusing on optics.
- Suggest methods and procedure improvements to facilitate the manufacturing process to ensure efficient and consistent production quality.
- Conduct tests, collect data, analyze, and record observations towards troubleshooting and optimization activities.
- Identify opportunities for method, costs, quality, and reliability improvements.
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, physics, optics, or equivalent
- 0 – 5 years of experience
- Candidates must have hands on experience in integration and testing of complex optical instrumentation.
- Candidates should be comfortable working in a class 10,000 clean room environment.
Desired Experience/ Qualifications
- Able to assemble, align, and test optical systems.
- Familiarity with common optical equipment such as power meters, lasers, and spectrometers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with Python scripts for data analysis.
- Mechanical engineering experience.
