Full-Time Associate Director, Professional Development and Training

Who You Are

The Associate Director, Professional Development & Training (AD, PD & T) will co-lead or support organization-wide professional development initiatives as a member of the People Development and Human Resources (PDHR) Team.

The AD, PD & T reports to the Executive Director, Professional Development & Training (ED, PD & T) and closely collaborates with various members of PDHR and other staff members across the organization.

 

What You’ll Do

Co-lead with the ED PD & T the creation, re-design, or enhancement and implementation of the vision for Organizational Stewardship, Organizational-Wide Brown Bags, Organizational-Wide Insights Learning Series, Staff Engagement Initiatives (e.g., My Why Staff Spotlights), and additional initiatives as needed.

  • Serve as a consultative thought partner in the development and design of programs and initiatives; conduct research and brainstorm new ideas and recommendations for design and delivery.
  • In response to feedback, staff needs, and organizational priorities or gaps, use innovative approaches and effective practices to create, modify, and continuously improve professional development resources and tools.
  • Develop and continue to enhance and improve systems and processes.
  • Lead the development and implementation of communications plans.
  • Help set and track progress toward goals.
  • Build strong internal relationships and serve as the PD liaison for cross-functional initiatives as needed, including the Program Design Team for professional development e-learning opportunities.

General operations and project management support for all professional development initiatives including New Hire DiSC Trainings, Organizational Stewardship, Organizational-Wide Brown Bags, Organizational-Wide Insights Learning Series, End-of-Year Performance Management, Equity, and additional initiatives as needed.

  • Serve as the project manager for all professional development initiatives.
  • Serve as the team’s resident expert and technical liaison for all professional development systems (e.g. Cornerstone Management System).
  • Maintain up to date and accurate data for professional development metrics; provide quarterly reporting.
  • Develop and maintain the annual calendars for professional development programs and activities.
  • Lead and manage planning, logistics, and provide administrative and operations support to ensure the successful execution of professional development sessions.
  • Create, manage, and update the various professional development Link pages.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least six years of professional experience required.
  • Experience working in a lateral capacity with a variety of colleagues and teams to drive toward results.
  • DiSC Behavioral Assessment Tools & Cornerstone Learning Management System familiarity a plus.
  • Knowledge of design and implementation of e-learning initiatives and modules a plus.
  • Graphic design experience a plus.
  • Professional development and training experience a plus.
  • East Coast location preferred.

  • Excited about professional development and able to contribute thoughts and perspective on creating new programs and initiatives that impact all staff members.
  • Demonstrated ability to create systems, processes, structures, and innovative strategies for leveraging technology to enhance workflows.
  • Results-oriented with a track record of meeting/surpassing goals and operating with purpose, urgency, nimbleness, accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced, multiple priorities environment.
  • Positive, self-motivated, self-reflective, resilient, and able to receive developmental feedback and grow from it.
  • Proficiency in research and information acquisition, including use of online sources and identification of best practices.
  • Adept at creating high-quality PowerPoint presentations, strong experience and aptitude for the Microsoft Office Suite, various video conferencing platforms, and other innovative technology systems.
