Associate Director of Employee Equity Outreach and Engagement

Clark College is seeking an experienced professional to help recruit and retain a more diverse faculty and staff through internal and external community outreach and engagement while assisting with intercultural competency and engagement of systemically non-dominant employees to facilitate an increasingly diverse and inclusive Clark College environment.

The Associate Director of Employee Equity Outreach and Engagement will work cross-departmentally to operationalize recruitment and retention efforts of systemically non-dominant groups as stated in the Clark College Social Equity Plan. The person in this position will work to increase diverse representation of the college’s faculty and staff and develop strategies for retention of systemically non-dominant groups.

The Associate Director of Employee Equity Outreach and Engagement will manage and maintain relationships with Employee Resource Groups, community groups, nonprofit organizations and other institutions in an effort to further the college’s Social Equity Plan. This position reports to the Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and will be located in the Diversity Center. The person in this position will join a team of passionate, social-justice minded professionals and have an opportunity to interact with students on a day-to-day basis.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Track, monitor and regularly report recruitment, hiring, retention, and development data along key demographic characteristics. Make recommendations as needed.
• Provide support for and recommendations on venues to effectively source, attract, and engage diverse talent and use of internet, referral, and college channels.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with external diversity organizations, and universities.
• Create and deliver Power, Privilege, and Inequity (PPI) trainings within the college.
• Co-deliver the required “Equity in Hiring” training module within the college.
• In conjunction with Human Resources, coordinate, attend, and evaluate Clark College’s participation at diversity/veteran career fairs and networking events, including the oversight of event logistics and execution.
• Partner with hiring managers and recruiters as they engage in recruiting and hiring practices to identify/recommend recruitment and hiring strategies directed toward systemically non-dominant communities.
• With the Communications and Marketing Department, develop and implement targeted marketing communications to build engagement and support Clark’s diversity and inclusion brand.
• Manage diversity recruitment and retention budget.
• Assist with Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion programming events and trainings.
• Serve as a resource to the college community to improve employee retention and intercultural competency; develop retention and recruitment strategies that contribute to equitable outcomes.
• Serve as a role model by exhibiting open and collegial communication across the college community.
• Create a safe, bias-free working environment, which engenders respect for differences.
• Provide leadership in accordance with the Vision, Values, and Core themes established by the college to achieve mission fulfillment.
• Work closely with ctcLink project staff to develop and implement security/access strategies and solutions as well as database and data analysis solutions and tools.

• Perform other related duties as required and deemed appropriate to accomplish assigned responsibilities and functions of the office.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Commitment to and understanding of equity, diversity and inclusion; Model inclusive behavior.
• Advanced skills in presenting to and speaking with diverse groups internal and external to the college.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education or equivalent work experience to obtain diversity retention efforts/strategy expertise.
• Experience with diversity retention efforts or strategies.
• Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong competency in developing and delivering trainings to employees.
• Effective problem identification and resolution skills working both independently and collaboratively with a team.
• Ability to manage departmental budget.
• Excellent written and verbal communications; solid listening and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate and work well with diverse populations.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and other professional boundaries.
• Prioritization and planning skills to manage and execute multiple objectives in a complex and often busy environment.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule outside of a normal 8am-5pm schedule; including occasional nights and weekends and travel as needed.
• Work to achieve and support Clark College’s Social Equity Plan.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
• Ability to analyze data and present results.
• Professional experience in higher education.
• Demonstrated success in employee retention, particularly retaining employees from systemically non-dominant groups.
• Experience as a professional trainer.

Salary Statement: $58,998 annually
