Title: Associate Director of Digital Communications
Reports to: Director of Advancement
Pay: Base salary of $65,000/year with potential for up to $72,000 depending on experience and cost of living.

Trans Lifeline is hiring an Associate Director of Digital Communications for $65,000 a year. The position will be responsible for developing and executing our digital communications, growth, and editorial strategies via social media, email, and website. An ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of digital acquisition strategies, Spanish-speaking trans communities, and project management. This position will report to the Director of Advancement.

Trans Lifeline connects trans people to the community, resources, and support they need to survive and thrive — building a resilient trans community through trans-led direct services. We have a robust digital footprint that is critical to resourcing trans people who may be experiencing crisis and providing a trans lens on intersectional issues from reparations and mutual aid to ending police involvement in mental health.
The Associate Director of Digital Communications will manage our complete digital portfolio in English and Spanish. They will supervise our Community and Design Manager and work alongside our Director of Public Relations to create and manage a comprehensive communications plan for 2021. Core job responsibilities will include:
1. Designing distinct organic & paid strategies to grow and segment our followings on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and the number of subscribers to our email list – with a particular focus on BIPOC trans communities
2. Manage editorial strategy for website and email content, including our blog.
Working collaboratively across the team to make sure that communications support programmatic & campaign goals and messaging.
3. Support the design and launch of Trans Lifeline’s first advocacy campaigns including campaigns to reduce fees associated with legal name and gender changes, end active rescue, and other appropriate independent and partner campaigns as they arise.
4. The Associate Director of Digital Communications will uphold and advance Trans Lifeline’s organizational culture and practice, grounded in impact, sustainability, and equity. Specifically, this position will:
Email (25%)
Create and maintain email/newsletter editorial calendars
Work with appropriate departments to draft and edit email communications
Develop and maintain audience segmentation systems and strategies
Design and implement list acquisition strategies for trans people we serve, including , monolingual Spanish speakers and donors.
Website (25%)
Work with Director of Public Relations to oversee and develop website content and regular updates
Translate existing and future website copy into Spanish
Work across organization and partners to source, publish, and promote regular blog posts
Social Strategy (20%)
Determine top-line goals for social media growth amongst key audiences
Design organic and paid social strategies and campaigns for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and YouTube for Community and Design Manager to implement
Oversee the maintenance of content calendars that take into account programmatic, advocacy, and development needs
Collaborate on production of marketing & resource digital assets such as video, animation, audio, etc.
Supervision (10%)
Set clear goals and benchmarks for the professional development of Community and Design Manager
Provide systems creation, coaching, and support as needed
Project manage Community and Design manager
Cross-Program Coordination and Participation in Equity Work (10%)
Create regular check-ins and workflows for programmatic input on all areas of communications alongside the Director of Public Relations and Director of Advancement
Actively participate in organizational equity work, including relevant caucus work
Professional Development (10%)
Actively seek and participate in 1:1 coaching and/or regular coursework to continue developing your digital communication and/or management skills

This full-time position will work remotely, with the option for an office if local to the SF Bay area. Compensation for this position will be $65,000 per year.
