Full-Time Associate Director of Development, Children’s Miracle Network

Job Description

What We Seek:

The University of New Mexico Foundation is seeking a talented professional to provide direct fund-raising services to the Children’s Miracle Network. This individual will participate and/or provide leadership, as appropriate, in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of fund-raising projects and programs to meet established development goals, strategies, and objectives. This includes, but is not limited to: assisting with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals corporate partner campaigns and programs, including UNM’s LoboTHON, 100.3 the Peak’s Radiothon, and UNMCH’s annual toy drive distribution; performing stewardship site visits to stores throughout the state of New Mexico, with 4-5 overnight trips annually; presenting at virtual and in-person partnership events on fundraising best practices, patient stories, and hospital needs; engaging store associates to increase campaign participation; assembling stewardship materials strategically designed for each campaign to steward partners and increase revenue; creating marketing materials including campaign posters, register signage, patient story materials (flyers, postcards, spark videos, etc.) and social media according to foundation, UNM Hospitals and CMN Hospitals guidelines; providing hospital tours to small groups; attending two annual conferences with CMN Hospitals national office; providing written materials from campaign updates to patient stories to newsletters; working with patient families to share their hospital stories with various constituents; occasional volunteer management.  This position has a rolling workload with ongoing campaign management, year-round stewardship and requires balancing priorities for both short and long-term campaigns at once.

As New Mexico’s only dedicated children’s hospital and academic medical center, the University of New Mexico Children’s Hospital has the most expertise in delivering advanced treatments for babies, children, and adolescents. UNM Children’s Hospital improves health outcomes through its research and technology. We draw on expertise from University of New Mexico School of Medicine, College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy and Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Located in the Barbara & Bill Richardson Pavilion, UNM Children’s Hospital cares for thousands of children from all over the state. The facility is New Mexico’s only Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.

What We Require:

This individual must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community; the ability to foster effective working relationships within a team environment and in planning and implementing long-and short-range development initiatives to meet established priorities. In addition, this person must have database and records management skills, a working knowledge of a variety of fund-raising strategies and methods, and proficient in the use of personal computers and software applications.

Also required are a Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution, three or more years of related experience in development/fundraising/event planning/project management, and experience in higher education or other non-profit organization.

Compensation Salary Range:

$50,000 – $53,000
