Carrier Global Cooperation is a leading provider of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration systems, building controls, and automation, and fire and security systems leading to safer, smarter, sustainable, and high-performance buildings.
We are looking for a candidate to join our Transicold engineering team located in Syracuse, New York. This position will be responsible for leading the modeling and robust design for Transicold, as well as manage a product development project for Truck Trailer. The primary responsibilities are to lead the modeling-based development and qualification for Transicold Product development and manage a product development project. The duties also include the Robust Design Leader for the Syracuse R&D site. The position will manage a team of engineers and designers to deliver a product development project to meet the Truck Trailer business requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the Modeling-Based Design and qualification to support the product development for Transicold engineering.
- Serve as the Robust Design Leader for the Syracuse Transicold engineering R&D center.
- Lead a group of engineers and designers to develop the new Trailer refrigeration unit to support the Truck Trailer business requirements.
- Interface with the Program Management team to maintain project schedule and meet the product KPI.
- Work closely with global Transicold design centers and Central Engineering to align the modeling activities to support overall engineering activities.
- Utilize the modeling to improve productivity for Transicold global product development.
Education / Certifications
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering with 10 + years’ experience in thermal modeling and technology development
- Ph.D. in mechanical engineering with 7 + years’ experience in thermal modeling and technology development
Desired Experience / Qualifications
The preferred candidate will have the following:
- 10+ years of HVACR system modeling and technology development
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of thermal system modeling
- Previous experience dealing with multiple challenges and priorities
- Strong interpersonal skills required, including good written and oral communication across functions
Preferred Experience / Qualifications
- Experience working with geographically dispersed teams is desired
- A familiarity with Truck Trailer Refrigeration products and other Carrier products is desired
Domestic relocation will be considered.
