Job Description
Clark College is currently accepting applications for the Associate Dean of Transitional Studies and Dual Credit position. The Associate Dean provides leadership for the Transitional Studies Division, pathways to college programs from Transitional Studies, and dual credit programs across all instructional units and in collaboration with many other areas of the college, particularly Student Affairs. Dual Credit programs includes—but is not limited to—CTE Dual Credit, College in the High School, Running Start, Open Doors, and the iTech Early College partnership. The Associate Dean reports to the Dean of Basic Education, English, Communications & Humanities (BEECH) and supervises Transitional Studies Support staff, dual credit staff, and Limited English Proficiency (LEP) Pathway staff.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain relationships and articulation agreements between school districts in Clark College’s service area and with specific high schools for dual credit programs.
- Ensure compliance to National Alliance for Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) standards and WAC 392-725-120 for College in the High School.
- Facilitate discussion about curriculum alignment, competencies, outcomes, and industry skill standards for dual credit programs with area school districts, Clark College program faculty, and instructional deans.
- Develop, review, oversee, and revise the registration process for dual credit programs with internal and external partners.
- Facilitate marketing and promotion of dual credit programs to parents, students, schools and business partners. Ensure ongoing outreach by Clark College to school districts, including classroom visits, career fairs, and other venues.
- Oversee proper record documentation of dual credit programs, including maintenance of the statewide registration database (SERS) to enroll and track CTE student participation and transition, and paperwork with area schools.
- Support facilitation and development of alternative models such as iTech and College in the High School, and other models to support expansion of dual credit opportunities.
- Develop guidelines, policies, and procedures to support dual credit programs and high school completion programs.
- Collaborate with Advising, Entry Services, and high school staff for progression toward high school graduation requirements and post-secondary educational goals.
- Represent the College at local, regional, and state meetings regarding high school/college programs.
- Serve as the liaison and primary contact between Clark College and area school districts.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with school district leadership and State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC) around dual credit programs.
- Represent Clark College and serve as main point of contact to the OSPI and school district leadership.
- Provide supervision and oversight for Limited English Proficiency (LEP) Pathway contract and staff.
- In collaboration with the Dean of BEECH and the Transitional Studies Division Chair, coordinate, plan, and facilitate the implementation of Basic Education for Adults (BEdA) initiatives in alignment with Clark College’s Mission, Core Themes, and Vision; WIOA Title II; and SBCTC guidelines.
- Ensure development of and compliance with BEdA grants: BEdA Master, Leadership Block, IELCE, and others. Complete grant reports annually.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines established for Basic Education for Adults programs.
- Facilitate recruitment and retention efforts for full-time and part-time faculty and staff; promote, supervise, support, and evaluate employee development within Transitional Studies Student Support.
- Facilitate Student Achievement Initiatives that promote successful transition to transfer and professional technical pathways for CAP, ESL, and GED students.
- Facilitate and develop partnerships with community partners: K-12, Workforce Southwest Washington, and others.
- Serve as College liaison to SBCTC Basic Education for Adults staff and Council for Basic Skills.
- Serve as the administrator on the Transitional Studies Academic Standards Committee.
- Model transparent and professional communication, conduct, decision-making, self-development, and team building.
- Serve as chair and/or member of designated Clark College committees, councils, and teams.
- Train, supervise, and evaluate employees in accordance with negotiated agreements, applicable state and federal laws, and Clark College policies and procedures.
- Participate in hiring, supervisory observations, and tenure-track committees for faculty in the unit.
- Work to advance and achieve diversity initiatives as established by the College.
- Create a safe, bias-free working environment, which engenders respect for differences.
- Provide leadership in accordance with the Vision, Values, and Core themes established by the college to achieve mission fulfillment.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution, preferably in an academic area related to assignment
- Full-time leadership experience in academic administration or instruction reasonably related to the administrative assignment
- Demonstrated sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disability
- Knowledge of working with community college students, staff, and faculty
- Culturally responsive, inclusive, and anti-racist practice in instruction
- Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.

SALARY RANGE: $104,263-$120,726 annually (commensurate with qualifications and experience).
Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases.
