NEW HIGHER PAY: $54,197 – $94,844
 
The Challenge
We are looking for an Assistant Resident Engineer to join our Youngsville Construction Engineering team.
In this role, you will:
    • Work on minor and major construction projects.
    • Supervise employees.
    • Prepare and evaluate employee performance.
    • Prepare monthly estimates, final estimates, and manage written and verbal communication with contractors, inspection staff, utility companies, and the public to ensure compliance with contract plans, standards, and specifications.
    • Evaluate data collected by field staff and prepare technical letters/reports, review contract plans, specifications, and materials testing results.
   
What You Bring
    • Experience reading, interpreting, and administering highway construction plans and contracts.
    • Experience directing, assisting, or training staff.
    • Knowledge and understanding of Civil Engineering principles and practices and the general concepts, practices, and theories used in construction, construction inspection, and/or construction surveying.
    • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
    • You value safety and promote a safe working environment.
    • Proficiency making highway engineering calculations and using survey instruments to supervise the stake-out of line grade for roadways and structures.
    • Safety toe shoes.
    • Attention to detail with a high degree of work accuracy and precision.
    • Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
Management Prefers
    • Candidates who are a Registered Professional Engineer.
Notes
    • You will work on projects in all types of weather and terrain.
    • You must be available as necessary to manage staff 7/24.
    • Your work time will be 70% office and 30% field.
    • You may be required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours, as necessary.
    • We may require registration as a professional engineer by the NC Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
 
Education and Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering; or
    • An equivalent combination of training and experience.
