Brescia University College campus is situated on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabeg, Haundenosaunee, Lūnaapéewak and Chonnonton Nations. The School of Food and Nutritional Sciences at Brescia University College invites applications for a tenure-stream appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning July 1, 2023. The preferred candidate will possess a relevant PhD or Masters-level degree and industry experience in one or more of the following areas of expertise: quality management, risk management, and/or process improvement methodologies and food safety, including food safety programs in nutrition/foodservice management or food processing. Holding a current RD designation, membership in CSNM or NM/P.H.Ec designation will be considered an asset.

The successful candidate will have an independent research program with a record of publications. Teaching duties will include courses on nutrition management and food policy, plus other courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. Potential courses for teaching could include Management for Food and Nutrition, Food Production Management, Policy Development and Advocacy, Global Policies in Food Safety, and Advanced Management. Each academic year, faculty at Brescia teach three courses in one term and two in the other and are expected to supervise graduate students in our MScFN program. In addition, the faculty member will be expected to expand and enhance the outreach of our Food and Nutritional Sciences program by building connections with the food industry and other institutions, and by contributing to program development. The successful candidate must be an independent and creative problem solver, able to work autonomously in areas of responsibility while collaborating with other members of the School.
