Full-Time Assistant Professor, Cybersecurity
Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Fulfill contractual obligations for full instructional load during fall and spring semesters.
- Provide instruction in various areas of cybersecurity.
- Participate in the oversight of the AS Degrees and Certificates in Cybersecurity and Information Technology.
- Develop and evaluate curriculum as appropriate, advising students, participating in institutional service and professional development activities, and engaging with the community.
- Provide student guidance and support.
- Collaborate with administration, faculty, and staff to ensure student success.
- Demonstrate continuous self-improvement by actively pursuing discipline-related continuing education, professional development, or active participation with professional or academic organizations.
- Engage in institutional service, professional development, and other duties as assigned by the Chair, Cybersecurity and Information Technology Department, the Dean of Career Education, and/or the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
- Enter all grades in gradebook.
- As a part of the college’s risk management tool annual mandatory compliance training is required.
- Provide project-based Cybersecurity/Computer Training to area business and industry partners at various locations in the service area. Training will support NWF State College continuing education and workforce development initiatives.

Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor’s in science degree in Cybersecurity or a bachelor’s in science degree in a related field with a minimum of 18 undergraduate semester hours in cybersecurity, information technology or computer programming.
- Proficiency with teaching technologies, including lecture-capture software (e.g., Camtasia or Kaltura).
- Demonstrated evidence of professional development growth through participation in continuing education and other related activities.
- Current industry certification in CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+ or related equivalent.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Highly desirable instructor/educator accreditations in Cisco Certified Network Associate in Routing and Switching, AWS Academy Cloud Foundations and AWS Academy Machine Learning.
- An earned master’s in science degree in Cybersecurity or a master’s in science degree in a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in cybersecurity, information technology or computer programming.
- Post-secondary teaching experience.
- Demonstrated success with online teaching.
