Job Description
Based in London at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall, the Philharmonia creates thrilling performances for a global audience. Through its network of residencies, the Orchestra has a national footprint, serving communities across England both in performance and through its extensive outreach and engagement programme.
We are looking to appoint an Assistant Orchestra Librarian & Auditions Administrator to join our busy Concerts team.
This is a fantastic entry level role working with a world-class orchestra. Principally based in the Music Library at the Orchestra’s administrative offices in London SE1, you will bring your passion and music expertise to support the Orchestra Librarian in the preparation of music for rehearsals, concerts, recording sessions and other work undertaken by the Orchestra. Travelling to rehearsal venues and out-of-London venues will form a regular part of the role.
In addition to library duties, you will be responsible for supporting the Orchestra Personnel Manager in the administration of all orchestral auditions, including acting as the main point of contact for audition candidates.
Amongst the qualities you will need to possess are:
• A good standard of music theory including the ability to read and understand a musical score and knowledge of transposition
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent organisational skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to prioritise and to manage own time
• Ability to work as part of a team

Salary: £21,000 to £23,000 pa
