Assistant Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor of Music Education (Instrumental)

The School of Music invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure line Assistant Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor of Music Education (Instrumental) beginning August 2021 to teach music education courses as part of the music education curriculum. The Undergraduate teaching assignments will include instrumental (band) music methods; technique courses in woodwind, brass, and/or percussion; introduction to music education; field experience and student teacher supervision; and other courses based on the expertise of the candidate and the needs of the school. Graduate teaching assignments will be assigned based on the expertise of the candidate and the needs of the school.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Music Education from an accredited college or university. Five (5) years of K-12 music teaching experience. Two (2) years of collegiate teaching experience (faculty or graduate teaching assistant).
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in Music Education from an accredited college or university. Significant K-12 music teaching experience. Collegiate teaching experience at both undergraduate and graduate levels (including thesis/dissertation supervision). A documented history of professional productivity in Music Education as a requisite to serving on the university graduate faculty.
