Assistant Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor of Communication Studies and Director of the Speech Team

Ball State University’s Department of Communication Studies has a full-time contract faculty position as Assistant Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor of Communication Studies and Director of Speech Team available August 2021. Primary instructional responsibilities include teaching courses in communication, such as Public Speaking, Communication and Pop Culture, Political Communication, and other courses as assigned. The instructional load is four classes a semester, with 1/4 non-instructional load assignment for serving as the Director of the Speech Team. There is also the possibility for Summer teaching.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Communication Studies or related field from an accredited institution by date of appointment; teaching experience at the college level in undergraduate classes and evidence of excellence in teaching as demonstrated by course evaluations; at least two years of experience coaching college speech.

 

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

 

Preferred Qualifications: Track record of competitive coaching success; experience hosting high school and college tournaments and events.
