We are currently hiring for the position of:
ASSISTANT, GROUND TRANSPORTATION (EVENTS) – 3 POSITIONS
Reporting to the Manager, Ground Transportation, the Assistant, Ground Transportation (Events) will be responsible for researching, tracking and booking the ground travel (transfers) for each guest identified by the Festival. This position is to ensure all guests are flagged for pick up, greeted at the airport and delivered to their assigned hotels. They will also assist in overseeing the coordination of Festival drivers and sedan service for airport pickups.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Liaise with other departments/staff regarding ground pick up/drop off requirements for guests.
- Ensure that the invited guests of the Festival are booked and scheduled for their airport transfers.
- Ensure that all guest travel information is captured and entered into the Festival database.
- Assist with scheduling drivers and client communications.
- Assist with communications to Festival Drivers, Airport Greeter Supervisors and volunteers regarding schedule and airport shifts.
- Accommodate last minute or unscheduled transfers of guests where possible.
- Assist with coordinating VIP pickups.
- Act as a liaison between the Manager, Ground Transportation and publicists, assistants, etc.
- Work cooperatively with Film Office staff and other departments, contributing to a team attitude and environment.
- Support the Manager, Ground Transportation whenever necessary.
- Provide post mortem materials/feedback by the end of contract.
RATE OF PAY:
- $18.75 /Hourly
CONTRACT DATES:
- August 15, 2022 to September 18, 2022
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience in ground transportation, travel and hospitality is an asset.
- Exceptional background in customer service is required.
- Strong computer skills (Google office suite, Microsoft Excel and databases).
- Strong organizational skills, detail oriented and numerical aptitude is a must.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills over the phone, email and in person is a must.
- Holds a G class licence, preferred.
- Previous experience working with a live event and/or festival preferred.
- Mature personal judgement, exhibiting a high level of professionalism and diplomacy, and ability to handle confidential information.
- Able to handle emergencies and difficult situations with confidence and grace.
- Enjoys fast paced, multi-tasking work environment.
- Exceptional ability and desire to work under deadline pressures.
- Fluency in multiple language(s) considered an asset.
- Must be adaptable to a flexible work schedule including some early mornings, evenings and weekends.
- Must be available to work all 11 days of the Festival, September 8 to 18, 2022 (including weekends).
