Title: Assistant Director, Outreach, Recruitment & Marketing 

Department: SEO Law  

Reporting To: Director, SEO Law  

FLSA: Exempt  

Compensation: $77,500 – $88,500 (Annually)  

Location: New York, NY  

This is a full-time, hybrid position based out of our New York City office location. It is expected that some duties will be performed on-site and some remotely, with the understanding that government and public health guidelines will determine the extent to which it is safe to carry out in-person and onsite activities.

ABOUT SEO LAW 

The Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) Law Programs offers scholarships, academic preparation, career development training and internship opportunities to talented, underrepresented incoming law students. SEO Law is composed of two primary programs: Catalyst and the Fellowship. SEO Law Catalyst is virtual pre-law pipeline that assists participants apply to law school, while the SEO Law Fellowship provides hands-on training from legal practitioners and academic instruction from law school professors, before embarking on a 10- week paid internship at a top corporate law firm to prior to beginning law school. POSITION OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBLITIES 

The Assistant Director of Outreach, Recruitment & Marketing of the SEO Law team is responsible for providing support to the Director in the planning, coordination and execution of strategic recruitment and marketing strategies as well as the development of the programs’ academic and career development support of participants.  Responsibilities include:  

 

  • Develop and manage strategic marketing campaigns for recruitment of prospective applicants for Fellowship & Catalyst programs, including e-mail marketing, text marketing, and social media (Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram) 
  • Partner with Director to develop and manage communications and outreach plans to prospective law firm partners, existing law firm partners, and alumni, including e-newsletters and other correspondence 
  • Manage correspondence from prospective applicants, especially throughout open application cycles
  • Partner with the Operations Manager to collect, track, quantify, and analyze marketing data Research and develop relationships with other third-party organizations to develop new recruiting pipelines and liaise with external stakeholders such as Law School Admissions Council and pre-law advisors to communicate events and opportunities
  • Work with the Outreach, Marketing & Events Coordinator to source, identify, and plan logistics for attending recruiting fairs and other recruiting events 
  • Attend in-person and virtual fairs and conferences, serving as a representative to prospective applicants
  • Work with the Outreach, Marketing & Events Coordinator to develop all marketing materials (flyers, palm cards, swag, etc.).
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of programmatic events, including the 2-week Law Institute in May and virtual events for Catalysts, including creating name tags, tent cards, program brochures, etc.  

Administrative/Programmatic Tasks 

  • Review applications and conduct applicant interviews and make recommendations for program 
  • Other related designated duties

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree. 
  • 3+ years of direct experience in an outreach or marketing position.   
  • Versed in outreach best practices with a successful track record of developing email and social media marketing campaigns.  
  • 1+ years of management experience. Internship and team leader experience apply. 
  •  Experienced and technically proficient in MS Office and standard workplace applications like Zoom and Box. Email and social media marketing tools are a plus.  
  • Practiced written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills; must be comfortable speaking to and engaging with diverse communities through different mediums, including in-person, email, messaging platforms, video chats/conferencing, and phone calls. 
  • Strong organizational skills and a high degree of comfort managing multiple competing priorities and meeting deadlines independently and as part of a larger team. 
  • Available to work a few (less than 15) evenings throughout the year, such as attending virtual webinars or kick-off events. 
  • The combined lived and learned experience to apply a race-intentional and inclusive lens to work and relationships.  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Familiarity with Canva, AirTable, Zoom, SurveyMonkey, HubSpot, ConstantContact, Monday.com and/or EZTexting  
  • Familiarity with higher education administration, admissions, and/or student recruitment a plus.
  • Working knowledge of law schools and the legal profession.

The compensation listed in this posting reflects what SEO believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and SEO reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
