Position: Assistant Director of Performance Standards
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) is seeking an Assistant Director of Performance Standards to support the Office of Local and Regional Health (OLRH). Reporting to the Director of Performance Standards and Data Systems, this position is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating Performance Standards for local and regional public health (LRPH) that align with the nationally recognized Foundational Public Health Services (FPHS). The Assistant Director will manage the development and oversight of strategic initiatives related to Performance Standards, including the development of a local public health infrastructure and a culture of quality in local public health practice. Collaboration with other MDPH bureaus and offices is required to ensure that the goals and objectives related to LRPH system performance incorporate all phases of the Performance Standards as well as strategies to improve the social determinants of health and racial equity.
The Office of Local and Regional Health acknowledges the history of structural racism and its impact on health. We are committed to improving the quality of life for all Commonwealth residents while eliminating inequities that impact the lives of communities of color who are disproportionately affected by conditions leading to poor health outcomes. The Assistant Director of Performance Standards will be part of the Office’s vision of implementing strategies that ensure the Office’s work, policies and programs are inclusive and equitable for all.
Our ideal candidate has:
- A passion for ensuring the creation and maintenance of statewide Performance Standards are grounded in equity, and support dismantling structural racism;
- at least 5 years of experience in experience in business or public health administration, and management; and
- a deep understanding of capacity building and performance assessments.
