Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of the Lewis and Gaines Center for Inclusion and Equity, the Assistant Director aids in the planning, coordination, and implementation of data-driven, student-informed programs and services that support the academic success, belonging, retention, personal development, community building and educational equity for intercultural students and their allies. The assistant director will work cross-divisionally and collaboratively with all campus constituencies to implement assessment-based student experiences that prepare students for their careers and civic engagement in society.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Director for the Lewis and Gaines Center for Inclusion and Equity.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Ambassador Corps student workers and Graduate Assistant.
Tour of Duty: Monday – Friday, 8:30 – 5:00(Saturday and Sundays as days off)

Essential Duties:
1. Collaborate with inter-divisional, campus, and external personnel to develop and implement programs and services that promote equity-minded student success outcomes such as inclusion, belonging, retention, progression, and timely completion of educational goals.2. Lead college transition and other initiatives in order to support the retention and success of all students through an intercultural, equity-minded framework of practice.3. Manage programming budget for initiatives.4. Oversee marketing of the center and its events to students and the campus community in print, on social media, and online.5. Research and use assessment tools to determine effectiveness of the student success initiatives.6. Assist in the planning and execution of departmental and campus-wide programs to educate on and celebrate different cultures.7. Provide support to the Multicultural student clubs and act as a liaison with the Center for Student Engagement to do so.8. Other duties as assigned.Some evening and weekend hours are required.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree· Three years’ experience (or its equivalency) working in student success and transition programs in an educational or related setting.· Demonstrated commitment to a broad and intersectional definition of diversity and equity.· Experience working with racially, ethnically, and socioeconomically diverse students.· Strong organizational skills, program management, and leadership abilities.· Ability to use basic and some advanced functions of Windows Operating Systems, Office 365, the internet, and web-based forms.· Strong collaboration, oral, and written skills.· Equity-minded, student success-oriented service provision skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Master’s Degree in a related field such as Student Affairs, Education, Social Work, or Psychology.· Have knowledge about identity development and the intersection of various aspects of diversity on identity development and the college transition process.· Experience leading culturally appropriate interventions/programs for student success.
