Full-Time Area General Manager
Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under independent direction, plan, direct, and supervise the work activities, customer satisfaction, and profitability for assigned sites with revenue responsibility greater than $25 million in this office position.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for up to 1,000 vehicles generating more than $25 million in revenue
- Direct daily site operations. Direct operation managers in their role of supervising drivers, clerks, training and safety personnel, and maintenance personnel in operating procedures and schedules and within the framework of the company’s Operations Excellence Program
- Communication with employees concerning Site and Company goals, objectives, and policies. Coordinate frequently with regional and area staff to maintain continuity in policies and procedures
- Oversee the revenue contract(s) including contract interpretation, trip scheduling and routing, billing and accounting, “trip” sales/bus leasing programs, and other activities
- Attend meetings of school board and act as Company liaison with various governing bodies
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports, administer budget, and plan fiscal budget within scope of responsibility.
- Oversee compliance with labor contract (if any) and resolve labor/employee grievances. Hire, train, and motivate staff employees
- Ensure that all maintenance programs are completed in a cost-efficient, timely manner. Ensure that equipment is safe, clean, and dependable. May justify capital expenditures for branch(s) and shop(s)
- Secure incremental revenues by marketing “trip” opportunities outside of the main revenue contract. Assist in developing bid work-ups and analysis and participate in the bid process
- Complete special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:

- Excellent communications and customer service skills
- 3 to 5 years’ management experience in a bus operations environment
- Computer literacy
