The Application Systems Specialist is a Senior Software Developer in NCDIT that supports ServiceNow based technical solutions and services. The applications specialist will work closely with other developers, business analysts, business stakeholders and project managers to provide analysis, coding, design, configuration, testing, implementation, and support to software solutions. The solutions must be aligned with business and IT Strategies and comply with the organization’s architectural standards.
Duties include, but are not limited, to:
- Collaborating with business analysts, IT teams, and end-users to gather and document requirements for new ServiceNow functionalities
- Analyzing, designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting ServiceNow applications and associated system reports
- This individual will work closely with the Platform Owner, other members of the ServiceNow Team, and software vendors to plan and implement enhancements and upgrades to the software applications, infrastructure, and services
- This position will have skills and knowledge to create seamless integration between ServiceNow and other systems to enable efficient and effective delivery of IT services. This includes the use of a variety of integration options including using REST web services
- Reviewing existing functionality and/or processes and identifying areas that improve scalability, performance and learning new technologies as needed
- Understanding business functions and system needs to develop, implement, and support solutions that meet business specifications
- Working closely with DIT and other agency customers to address concerns, gather requirements, instruct on best practices and shared policies and guidance, and to coordinate changes and other maintenance concerns
- Create and work with complex database queries to generate reports to support business customers
