The Application Engineer provides technical/mechanical support to customers, Sales and Service departments.
Position Duties:
- Generates standard proposals in response to inquiries and requests for bids.
- In partnership with Sales personnel, meets with customers as required to discuss proposals and to provide technical training, support and expertise.
- Analyzes customer needs to determine which system or unit best suits their requirements.
- Supports the Product Manager in developing the Marketing Plan for the assigned products and the organization’s Business Plan.
- Coordinates presale demonstrations and trade show exhibitions including procurement of equipment, set-up, demonstration and discussion with potential customers.
- Prepares and conducts sales seminars and training schools.
- Seeks out new applications for existing products and makes recommendations on the nature and scope of present and future product lines.
- Maintains customer database and reviews/updates customer data regularly.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline (Mechanical or Aerospace preferred).
- 2+ years of sales experience in technical goods and services; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Travel up to 20% of the time, including some international travel.
- Strong PC skills: must be able to install software associated with vibration analysis programs.
- Must be mechanically and electrically incline with knowledge of mechanical engineering concepts, machine components and drawings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to respond promptly and skillfully to customer inquiries.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with ability to analyze and reason through on technical issues
