Global Financial Firm located in IRVING, TX; JACKSONVILLE, FL has an immediate contract opportunity for an experienced Application Manager

“This role is currently work-from-home and will move to the office environment after the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.”

This is an engineering technical lead role responsible for the application management and support of multiple internal and external vendor applications. The successful candidate will be responsible to work directly with multiple technology to own and manage support activities in this space. The successful applicant will take ownership of key projects, application management, and production support. As a technical lead, the candidate will be responsible for providing technical guidance to junior developers, including providing architectural guidance and enforcing Client best practices. A potential candidate will need to understand system and enterprise architecture concepts and will be expected to understand how all components fit together and affect one another. They will work with a global and diverse team of peers as well as liaise closely with product owner, principal engineer, production support, infrastructure and compliance teams. This role is for a Contractor, with possibility for future full time employment in Irving or Jax, USA.

Responsibilities:
• Interact with management to define and drive architectural direction
• Interact with stakeholders and translate reported problems/issues between various technical and business groups, internal and external
• Provide level 3 (escalation) support
• Ensure all applications are fully compliant with Client technology standards
• Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes
• Serve as advisor/mentor/coach to lower level analysts
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Banking, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
• Develop strong, trust-based relationships with critical internal and external partners and challenge them to continuously improve

Qualifications:
• Effective time management skills in order to manage multiple priorities with flexibility on time zones and timelines
• Logical thinking, Strong analytical and problem solving skills; innovative and solutions oriented
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to prepare and deliver effective presentation
• Solid understanding of application infrastructures, including hardware, storage, network, databases, disaster recovery
• A minimum of 5-7 of application development experience
• Understanding of Metadata, its applications and management
• Strong preference of experience working in financial industry

Technical Skills and Experience:
• Project Management
• Experience with the following technologies:
o Modern source control, build and continuous integration solutions
o J2EE stack technologies
o RDBMS, SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle DB
o XML/XSD/XSLT and JSON
o Web services (SOAP, REST, etc.)
o UNIX/Linux Shell scripting
o Websphere application server
o Tibco EMS and other message oriented middleware
o Windows scripting, PowerShell
o Autosys and scheduling
o Experience using – JIRA, Sonarqube, BitBucket, Maven.

• Good to Have:
o Familiarity of the banking industry
o Familiarity with Cloud concepts and technologies: container build and
orchestration, infrastructure-as-code, horizontal scaling.
o AWS, Microsoft Azure, Adobe PCF
