About Your Role
We are looking for an intelligent, motivated, detail-oriented individual with a strong desire to immerse themselves in a deal and learn everything they can about commercial real estate. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, a team player, and great with numbers. Most importantly, they will leverage analytical and quantitative skills to work through problems and not be afraid to ask questions.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist in the preparation of materials for pre-screening of potential real estate investments including the analysis of real estate companies, physical property characteristics, business plan, market fundamentals, deal structure, and financial metrics. Help identify strengths and weaknesses as well as the feasibility of potential transactions
- Complete market research & competitive property analysis reports using Costar, Axiometrics, other data providers, and market experts.
- Financial modeling for a variety of property types including multifamily, office, industrial, mixed-use, and retail properties. You will also learn how to analyze and model cash flows for various deal structures including joint-venture equity, debt, & subordinated transactions. You will also perform various scenario analysis to account for potential changes in several variables including tenant financial status and market conditions
- Collecting and reviewing due diligence materials
- Assist in the compilation of investment committee deliverables
- Interact with real estate companies including sponsors, brokers, and third-party agencies
- Interact with the management team on additional ad hoc projects as needed
Who You Are:
- Highly analytical
- Proficient in Excel
- Enthusiastic and eager to learn
- Ambitious – You can work autonomously, convey confidence in asking questions, and can work through problems
- 1+ years of Commercial Real Estate experience. If no prior work experience, candidates will have held an internship within the industry or taken real estate courses
- Extreme attention to detail and highly reliable
- Not easily shaken. Can work in a fast paced, highly demanding environment
- Ability to stay organized with a wide variety of tasks
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet tight timelines
- Excellent computer skills with MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Outstanding communication and writing skills
- Experience with Argus or REFM is a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Econ or equivalent work experience
