This position will be mentored by an experienced member of our legal administrative support team and provided with training to ultimately advance to a Legal Administrative Assistant position. The person selected for this position must be accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment. This position requires in office support and may become eligible for a hybrid work schedule after an extended training period.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and edit legal documents, correspondence and reports from rough draft form.
- Provide administrative support to assigned attorneys, such as calendaring, preparing letters and emails, coordinating travel arrangements and managing attorney contact and client lists.
- Input invoices and expense reports in Chrome River for processing.
- Assist in requesting conflict of interest reports with the appropriate department and opening new clients and/or matters through the Firm’s software program.
- Prepare client binders for the practice area to which assigned, and prepare client documents with signing instructions, where appropriate.
- Perform overflow assistance to attorneys and legal support staff in a team environment.
Education and Experience Qualifications
- Minimum High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate Degree is preferred.
- Minimum one (1) year experience working in an administrative capacity required.
- Prior experience which required excellent organizational and communication skills preferred.
Compensation
For applicants that meet the experience requirements for the role and are physically based in New York City, the expected salary range is $50,000 – $60,000 annually upon commencement of employment. Starting salary will be determined on an individualized basis with consideration to prior experience and additional qualifications. This is in addition to a comprehensive benefit package offered by the Firm.
