Administrative Support, Accounts Receivable

Corporate Services – Corporate Finance 

 

Status: (1) Regular Full-Time position

Salary Range: $45,184 to $56,478 per annum plus comprehensive benefits

Work Mode: Hybrid i.e. 1-2 days in office or travel between various sites per week or as per operational requirement *see below for more details about this work mode.

Hours of work: 35 hours per week

 

In this role you’ll be reporting to the Supervisor, Corporate Reporting & Receivables. You’ll provide support to the overall function of the accounts receivable. You’re duties include posting invoice requests, maintaining customer database, mailing invoices and monthly statements, preparing past due notices, entering or preparing journal entries, preparing correspondence, filing accounts receivable documents, ensuring proper authorization and compliance with Regional policies and procedures, and other accounts receivable duties as assigned.

 

What you will do in this role:

  • Post all invoice requests related to general accounts receivable transactions to the Financial Information System, on a daily basis
  • Maintain the customer database accurately and on a timely basis
  • Mail or email invoices, past due notices and statements to clients accurately and on a timely basis
  • Prepare required journal entries accurately and timely
  • Ensure the proper authorization and compliance with Peel policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Prepare required correspondence with clients
  • File all accounts receivable documents with established Corporate Records procedures
  • Effectively deal with clients, peers and management concerning receivable queries
  • Assist in drafting procedures
  • Assist in training staff as required

 What the role requires:

  • High school diploma College diploma is considered an asset
  • Minimum two years of accounts receivable or equivalent administrative experience or a combination of education and experience may be considered

Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational, communication and customer service skills
  • Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Detail oriented combined with an ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities in order to meet deadlines
  • Effective team player
  • Knowledge of the PeopleSoft Software would be an asset

*Work Mode & Job Location: In this role, you’ll enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement. This means you’ll have the ability to work off-site and on-site as needed, depending on operational needs at the 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton worksite. The frequency of on-site work may vary from week to week, depending on operational demands, which can evolve over time.

It’s important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario. This ensures that we’re compliant with all regulations and policies.
