Full-Time Administrative Specialist I
Job Description
- Be our primary contact answering telephone, handling radio communications and greeting customers.
- Maintain our inventory for stocked items.
- Process payroll and invoices in our online SAP database.
- Perform data entry and type correspondence and reports, including accident and worker’s compensation.
- Run special project under the guidance of our County Maintenance Engineer.
- Customer service experience, including resolving customer issues.
- Computer skills using Microsoft Office, such as Access, Word, and Excel.
- Experience completing and/or maintaining records and reports, and interpreting/explaining policies, procedures, and laws.
- Excellent grammatical skills for letter writing using correct spelling, punctuation, and proofreading.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize daily tasks.
- Skills to independently process technical information.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Office skills to operate computers, copy machines, fax machines, our multi-line telephone system, and a scanner.
- Communications skills to clearly and concisely present information verbally and in writing to the public, NCDOT staff, and government officials.
- High school/GED diploma, and
- 2+ years of related administrative experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- You may be required to work nights and weekends as needed during inclement weather.
