Full-Time Administrative Shift Supervisor- Operating Room (Nights)

Job Description

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Direct Supervision of all ancillary Perioperative staff
  • Ensure strict compliance with Tufts MC 12 Tenets, our hospital-wide customer service standards.
  • Engage in quality improvement and efficiency projects
  • Serve as the “super user” for all hospital systems related to clinical inpatient and outpatient services
  • Fill in at reception areas when admin staffs are absent.
  • Coordinates coverage of ancillary Perioperative staff for day to day
  • Conduct continuous training with all support staff on customer service standards (12 Tenets) and hospital systems.
  • May assist Business Operations Manager in the ongoing analysis of the department’s organizational clinical structure and job design. Recommends plans and implements changes to improve the utilization of resources and organizational performance.
  • Maintains collaborative team relationships with peers and colleagues in order to effectively contribute to the team’s achievement of goals, and to help foster a positive work environment.
  • Works on special projects related to revenue, charge capture, and documentation. This involves knowledge of and expertise in complex surgical services billing requirements.
  • Assists with Payroll responsibilities in all of Perioperative Services
  • Performs other similar job related duties as required or directed

Qualifications

JOB KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Proficiency with computer operations (including MS Office, MS Outlook and internet applications) and an ability to quickly learn and understand hospital based systems.
  • Excellent typing skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential medical and personnel information.
  • Analytic and quantitative skills are needed to design and produce financial and clinical reports to make resource-planning decisions.
  • Supervisory and coaching skills as well as the ability to work both independently and as a team member.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred Associate’s Degree need in Business/Health Care Administration or related field.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Two to three years’ supervisory experience, preferably in a healthcare environment, including staff training and development, job coaching and evaluation.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above, may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
