Full-Time Administrative & Personal Assistant

Crumiller – Posted by Crumiller Brooklyn, New York, United States

Job Description

We are a feminist litigation firm that is well known for representing victims in high-profile sexual harassment and employment discrimination lawsuits. We have also teamed up with trailblazing victims’ rights law firm C.A. Goldberg PLLC to create the Survivors Law Project, fighting sex abuse and those who enable it.

Our clients come to us in some of the most dire situations of their lives – being harassed, demeaned, assaulted, and gaslit into believing that their traumatic experiences weren’t so bad. Emotions and stakes are high, and too often in these situations, victims are forced to re-traumatize themselves by speaking to unempathetic, out-of-touch lawyers. Susan founded Crumiller after experiencing discrimination herself, feeling the same emotions and pressure that our clients feel.

We have rigorous standards; the payoff is the opportunity to work with a truly top-notch team. The most important thing is that you are nice, and secondly, that you are sharp. We like to think and move fast, and we need people who can keep up. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are paramount. We go overboard to keep clients in the loop, and we are a positive, collaborative team. You must be a person who is motivated to excellence, both intellectually and emotionally; our work is driven by our passion.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director of Legal Operations by acting as the firm’s first point of contact with external stakeholders and directing individuals to the appropriate party
  • Answer and route phone calls per firm procedures, including taking initial inquiry information from prospective clients
  • Distribute and/or respond to emails and voicemails in a timely manner
  • Greet and welcome clients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner; notify building security of incoming visitors
  • Schedule and manage the founding attorney’s personal and professional calendars efficiently
  • Assist the founding attorney by making travel arrangements, scheduling personal appointments, purchasing supplies and, on occasion, running personal errands
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as drafting correspondence and proofreading documents
  • Keep administrative information and files meticulously organized
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area, ensuring it is well-stocked with necessary supplies
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including packages, and distribute them to the appropriate parties
  • Perform general office duties, including filing, scanning, and photocopying

Requirements:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all work performed
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues
  • The ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion is a must

This is a full-time position with a base salary of $50k; raises and bonuses are given at the firm’s discretion. Available benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), FSA Program, PTO and commuter program.
