Full-Time Administrative Officer – Office of Civil Rights
Job Description
- Serve as the HR Representative for the NCDOT Office of Civil Rights (OCR).
- Administer all office functions (e.g., respond to staff programmatic issues/needs.
- Lead/monitor task forces.
- Plan, write, and implement department goals.
- Serve as liaison between OCR Director and staff.
- Transmit decisions and directives.
- Represent our OCR Director at meetings and conferences.
- Assume responsibility and authority in Director’s absence.
- Interview, hire, and counsel staff.
- Manage office and auxiliary functions (e.g., maintenance, security, public information, HR.
- Formulate and implement program policy.
- Analyze and solve technical problems.
- Ensure enforcement of OCR laws and regulations.
- Establish and maintain frequent public contacts in promoting established OCR programs.
- Human Resources experience using an HR Information system (such as BEACON), conducting new hire orientations, and training staff on HR policies.
- Experience maintaining sensitive and confidential information.
- Working knowledge of Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
- Bachelors degree, and
- 1+ year of experience in HR, budgeting, research, or administrative management; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
