The EXCEL (Extraordinary Expectations for Career, Education and Life) Program at Bridgewater State University (BSU) is a fully inclusive postsecondary program for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Position Summary:
The BSU EXCEL Administrative Assistant works with the BSU Excel Director and EXCEL Office Manager to be a contact between all parties involved with the EXCEL Partnership School District Officials, school district teachers, paraprofessionals, families, and students. The administrative assistant also promotes the growth of the BSU EXCEL Partnership and BSU EXCEL Partnership Resident Life program and implementation.

Monday-Friday, 8:45 AM- 5:00 PMSaturdays and Sundays as days off(subject to change)
This position is grant funded through August 31, 2024. The terms of this appointment are based on appropriate funding from the grant.
This is an AFSCME unit position and is subject to the terms of that union agreement.

Essential Duties:
• Correspond with current and prospective partnership school districts who have applied to send students to the BSU EXCEL Partnership Program and Transitions@Bridgewater.
• Correspond with Partnership Program families and Partnership Residence Life families for Partnership-Leadership-team meetings as needed.
• Promote the growth and implementation of BSU EXCEL Partnership program with districts and families.
• Support Inclusive Student Life Coordinator in event planning for commuter and resident life students
• Make any updates to the EXCEL Contact Lists that are needed on OneDrive
• Assist with sending out notices and program updates to students, district partners and families
• Assist with responding to incoming inquiry emails from potential students/families
• Aid in the outreach to new K-12 schools and 22 plus serving community organizations to grow residence life,
• Meet the administrative needs of students in the Residence Life program
• Assist the office manager in daily tasks to create an equitable work load in serving both EXCEL Partnership
• Assist with the electronic filing of new incoming EXCEL applications
• Assist with sending communications to students regarding courses for the second semester
• Assist with partnership invoicing
• Course Registration for students
• Perform other duties as requested
Required Qualifications:

Applicants must have at least (A) two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in office management, office administration, business administration or business management, the major duties of which included one or more of the following functions: purchasing, personnel management, budgeting, accounting, records management, work simplification, grants management, contract administration or program management, (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
I. An Associate’s or higher degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for the required experience.
II. An Associate’s or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.
