Under the leadership of the Chief Diversity & Attorney Development Officer, this position will provide administrative support to Thompson Coburn’s Diversity, Inclusion, and Professional Development department. This person will be a part of a growing team in a newly created role working with individuals across the firm in all locations and at all levels. This position is eligible for a flexible hybrid-remote work schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides high level administrative support to the Chief Diversity & Attorney Development Officer, including, but not limited to, preparation of presentation materials; filing, scanning, copying, etc. as directed; and schedules and updates calendar appointments and room logistics.
- Prepares agendas and plans for committee and other meetings. Compiles, transcribes, and distributes agendas and minutes of meetings, some of which may be sensitive and confidential in nature.
- Compiles associate and counsel weekly availability reports.
- Participates in confidential/sensitive meetings, must maintain confidentiality of meeting content, produces minutes, action items, and follow up communications.
- Compiles content for newsletters, annual report, ads, event recaps and annual Diversity Awareness Calendar.
Experience and Education Qualifications:
- An Associate degree in office support services, or equivalent, required, with a Bachelor’s degree, preferred. Substantial equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements will be considered.
- Minimum of three years of experience in an administrative support role required, and previous law firm experience in an administrative role is preferred.
- Requires ability to use tact and diplomacy when interacting with others, and ability to communicate professionally with attorneys, candidates, department members, and other internal and external stakeholders while maintaining the strictest of confidence.
- Must possess attention to detail, ability to balance multiple projects and have strong time management skills.
- Advanced level knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
