Job Description
The Legal Aid Society as an immediate opening for an Administrative Assistant to work in the Bronx Criminal Practice office, Interpreter Services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the Administrative Assistant to the Director on Interpreter Services
- Answer and respond to telephone calls and email
- Open/sort mail
- Draft and type correspondence
- Prepare attendance and vacation and other reports
- Schedule appointments
- Handle administrative matters
- Prepare and maintain training records
- Assist in the preparation of scheduled reports, calendar year/fiscal year report spreadsheets
- Work with CDP county offices to process invoices, interpretation vouchers, activity logs, language forms, etc.
- Work with outside agencies
- Develop and maintain filing system, organize, and maintain office supplies
- Document and data related retrieval
- Other duties as assigned

TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Some knowledge of the criminal justice system
- Proficient with MS Office, Excel spreadsheet and Teams
Preferred qualifications:
- Familiarity with the Criminal Practice Law Manager System and NYS CIS

SALARY TRANSPARENCY
The posting reflects the range of potential salaries for the role. The specific salary offers will be dependent on candidate qualifications, including collectively bargained salary steps for unionized roles.
Salary Range/ Salary: $63,429 – $67,600
