Full-Time Activation Marketing Manager, School Communications

The National Theatre for Children, Inc. (NTC), founded in 1978, is a for-profit educational content provider that offers free programs to K-12 schools nationwide that teach co-curricular subjects, life skills, and societal topics (for example: energy conservation, emergency preparedness, health and nutrition). NTC’s educational offerings include live theatrical assemblies, livestream shows, videos, print materials, graphic novels, digital games and activities, and interactive classroom-based games. Our programs are offered on behalf of our clients, who hire us to bring important messages to students at schools in target markets of their choosing.

This job:

You will facilitate a multi-state K-12 energy conservation program, which is designed to educate students in the importance of energy conservation, and activate students and their parents to save energy with free energy efficiency kits. Your challenge is to drive teacher, family, and schools to sign up for this program; drive the program at various levels throughout the school year alongside a program director and colleagues; achieve clearly established kit goals via school activation; and create and execute messaging via email campaigns, marketing pushes, social media posts and other efforts.

Principle responsibilities:

Strategically plan and execute marketing campaigns to meet contracted goals for NTC’s school activation programs.

  • Plan and oversee marketing campaigns through calls, emails, mailings to schedule schools for NTC programs and recruit participants toward activation programs
  • Plan and implement timely targeted outreach efforts and marketing campaigns to participating school audiences: administrators, teachers, students and their parents, parent organizations
  • Manage and maintain segmented lists of contacts for communications campaigns
  • Develop program branding and school incentives for NTC activation programs
  • Strategize mass marketing and personal outreach with School Communications staff, Director of School Communications, and Director of Sales & Marketing
  • Copywrite and manage content for ongoing email campaigns, weekly newsletters, websites, social media, print
  • Manage and maintain email alerts for participating schools and school contacts
  • Project manage Creative Services department for development of activation print and digital materials, websites, video production
  • Oversee activation-related script language within NTC live and virtual performances
  • Maintain and file content and templates related to activation communications (email templates, cover letters, etc.)
  • Coordinate with IT Director and Data Manager for digital marketing and database support toward activation goals
  • Analyze and report data related to activation programs and marketing efforts
  • Track campaign actions for mass communication efforts for internal and client reporting
  • Prepare client reports and proposals; participate in client calls
  • Utilize Salesforce Lightning CRM, Pardot Lightning, TaskRay and Microsoft Office as effective information and planning tools for marketing, tracking and scheduling efforts
  • Prepare actor materials and lead actor meetings related to activation programs
  • Assist with creation of departmental training materials as assigned
  • Actively participate in regular staff, departmental and All Staff meetings

Who you are:

  • You are an excellent communicator with superb writing skills, and experience in copywriting.
  • You are a confident and persuasive speaker.
  • You think in big picture strategy, but have a keen eye for details and tactical planning.
  • You work well with people and are comfortable driving processes and plans, and in collaborating with others for the best answer.

Minimum qualifications

  • Previous full-time administrative work
  • Written communication skills sufficient to write clearly and organize material logically for inclusion in correspondence and documentation of decisions. Must be able to write clear and concise summaries of information gathered as well as engaging copy for email campaigns and social media captions
  • Proficiency in computer use sufficient to adapt to frequent specialized software updates; manage multiple screens; utilize the internet to research issues; and use various office software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel), email programs (e.g. Outlook, CRM platforms), and other database applications
  • Ability to work independently
  • High level reading comprehension and analysis skills in order to reach large company activation goals
  • Decision-making skills sufficient to make accurate and sound determinations on marketing messaging
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, including school programs. Must be able to multi-task in dealing with multiple tasks at one time.

Preferred skills:

  • 3+ years’ experience in Marketing & Communications
  • Copywriting
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Pardot tools
  • Proficiency in marketing automation and list segmentation
