Full-Time Accounts Receivable Accountant

Job Description

ABOUT THE POSITION: The Accounts Receivable (AR) Accountant will work with over $15 million in annual revenue consisting of government grants, program/rental income, and contributions. Monthly activities include revenue recognition, billing, and collection for the agency’s government grant portfolio, recording rental revenue, and cash receipts from donors and partners. This position will coordinate closely with Program and Property management, Development, and Compliance, as well as external contract monitors. The AR Accountant will also assist in other general accounting activities to include the preparation of the annual operating budget, general ledger reconciliations, support of the annual audit process, and other duties as assigned.

LOCATION: Headquarters in Pioneer Square (Seattle, WA)

REPORTS TO: Controller

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

SCHEDULE: Weekdays

SALARY RANGE: DOE and within Compass ranges

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor’s degree is strongly desired in accounting, finance, or related field. Or relevant work experience, certificate and/or equivalent continuing professional development or education.
  • 3-5 years’ demonstrated experience with accounting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, required.
  • Work experience with Abila/MIP accounting software and Boston Post, desired.
  • Familiarity with issues of homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, sexual assault, and/or domestic violence, desired.
