Full-Time Accounting Technician II – Accounts Payable
Job Description
- Audit and approve contracts and grants, vendor setups, maintenance of suppliers, and work on finance projects.
- Maintain frequent contact with internal and external customers and NCDOT field staff to ensure vendors, contracts, and invoices are set up and paid out following Internal Revenue Service guidelines.
- Multitask on work multiple job duties.
- Communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external customers.
- Work on projects assigned by management.
- Experience with general accounting principles, processes, and procedures.
- Experience reviewing work of others and implementing financial policies and procedures.
- Computer expertise in Microsoft Excel.
- Flexibility to perform multiple job duties.
- Experience creating reports in an accounting software program.
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving accounting related issues through effective communication.
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, and
- 1+ years of accounting experience; or
- High School/GED diploma, and
- 3+ years of accounting experience; or
- An equivalent combination of training and experience.
