The Finance Division within The North Carolina Department of Information Technology (NCDIT) has the responsibility for NCDIT budget preparation and management, accounting functions (accounts payable/receivable, Annual Consolidated Financial Report (ACFR)), billing functions both for computing services, distributed services, telecommunications services, and rates development. Finance also manages facilities, agency IT, administrative staff, internal audit, and a number of boards and other functions. The Budget team under Finance is responsible for functional areas of budget management, including budget development, budget entry, expansion requests, certification, budget monitoring, spend monitoring, budget updates, recording of revenue, and assists with cash management.
The Accounting Technician I is responsible for consistent, accurate time administration and leave tracking in Fiori (formerly Beacon). It assists the payroll team with payroll adjustments and completing tasks related to the retirement of NCDIT employees.
Duties include, but are not limited, to:
- Leave tracking system/resolving issues listed on the time error report
- Auditing of payroll reports such as time leveling reports, Holiday Premium reports
- Making time entry changes upon written request from the Employee and their Time approver
- Analyzing and resolving issues for the Department of Transportation optimized staff utilizing the Enterprise Business Services (EBS) SAP system
- Payroll/monthly duties in the preparation, processing, and maintenance of payroll, salary, and benefit calculations
- Collects, analyzes, updates, and reconciles payroll and benefit data on a monthly and bi-weekly basis
- Auditing HR action report for accuracy by calculating employees pay and comparing pay to the remuneration statement
