Full-Time Accounting Systems Analyst

Job Description

Leggett & Platt, Incorporated has an opening for an Accounting Systems Analyst in the Record to Report (R2R) Business Process department at its corporate headquarters in Carthage, MO.  The R2R department is part of Leggett’s Corporate Accounting team and provides support for Accounting & Finance teams across the company.

We are looking for a numbers person who can work well under pressure and adapt in a constantly changing environment, while contributing positively in a team environment. If you pride yourself in being organized and professional, then this may be the job for you!

 So, what will you be doing as an Accounting Systems Analyst?

  • Perform recurring monthly tasks (such as journal entries and report reviews) to close our financial systems, while ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements and internal management reports
  • Maintain our financial systems with updates to accounts, entities, reports, and system configurations.
  • Support end-users in the R2R workstream with system questions and issues
  • Other various projects which can include assisting in updates of our financial systems, assisting internal and external auditors with support for our control environment, and day-to-day contact with several end-users in the R2R workstream

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (a minimum of 15 hours of accounting is required)
  • Cumulative 3.30 GPA and 3.50 GPA in major
  • Solid understanding of accounting and strong ability to communicate, both written and verbally
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment, whether remotely or in the office
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to provide support for other areas of the Company, including operations, finance, tax, credit, information technology, etc. and identifying accounting related matters
  • Expertise in Excel creating spreadsheets, using practical formulas, and working with large datasets

Things we consider a plus:

  • 2 years of related accounting experience
  • CMA and/ or CPA designation
  • Master’s Degree
  • Experience with Hyperion Financial Management and Microsoft Dynamics AX
