Job title: Sr Mgr Channel Development

Location: Jacksonville, FL (Remote Okay)

Duration: 6 months

 

Job Description:

This position is responsible for providing day to day guidance, support and leadership in the development of sales channel management tactical and strategic plans. This will be accomplished by evaluation of complex information and will be ultimately responsible for the collection of analyses for presentation to stakeholders and decision makers. All of these activities will be with the objective of strengthening our distribution strategy, optimizing our channel mix and driving customer value through the execution of creative and innovative solutions.

  • The essential functions listed represent the major duties of this role, additional duties may be assigned.

Leadership

  • Acts as primary backup for the Channel Development Sr Director in providing guidance and direction in a matrixed environment.
    • Influences meaningful outcomes across the organization by identifying potential blind spots, documenting findings, and communicating business impacts and in order to achieve Sales, Channel, and Segment objectives.
    • Develops and delivers executive level presentations, data analyses and recommendations
    • Establishes critical partnerships with leadership and SMEs across all areas of the enterprise (Segment, Channel, Product, Finance, Analytics, IT, Service, etc.)
    • Enables a culture focused on challenging conventional thinking, breaking silo’s, and fostering creative ideas and approaches to solve problems and meet customer needs. 30% • Planning • Identify gaps in current processes and coordinate with business leaders to develop strategies for resolution and improvement.
    • Research changing market conditions, competitive landscape, implications to consumers, employer groups and our business, and sales channel performance to drive well informed and holistic decisions.
    • Manage strategic priorities by leading various projects/programs and/or providing facilitation, planning, coordination, analytical and documentation support.
    • Maintains and applies a broad understanding of financial management principles to ensure decisions are fiscally sound and responsible. Identifies cost effective approaches.
    • Interfaces and collaborates with the sales partners to transform field input from customers and brokers into impactful and actionable plans that drive continued improvement.

30% • Sales Performance Management Performance Management:

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to gather, package and deliver channel performance insights to create meaningful strategies and actionable solutions.
  • Lead preparation activities for regular sales performance and program effectiveness reviews with senior sales leadership, executive management, and with each team across all channels, regions, and segments.
  • Provide input to and recommendations for channel strategies and plans that optimize performance and controls.
  • Integrate performance management insights with the sales compensation plan design process through partnership and collaboration in support of driving strategic channel and segment priorities.

Participant Management:

  • Management of Sales Participant data (Onboarding, maintenance, structure, training, certification) Territory Management:
  • Management of Sales Participant alignment (location, customer, channel, product, etc.) Sales Objective Management: 40% Essential Functions Essential Functions % TIME

Required Work Experience

6+ years related work experience 6+ years related work experience or equivalent combination of transferable experience and education

Required Management Experience 3+ years direct supervisory/management experience

  • Sales compensation design and management experience
  • Experience in sales environment working with brokers and agents
  • Experience in health insurance industry
  • Understanding of sales processes
  • Strong Leadership skills
  • Experience applying job knowledge to identify opportunities and solve business problems
