As a TAPCO Accountant you will be able to use your skills and expertise to accurately perform a variety of basic accounting functions, including posting entries to general ledger accounts, reconciling assigned accounts, balancing transactions, preparing and submitting information and regulatory reports, and maintaining accurate accounting records. What you’ll do:
- Accounts Payable processing, ensure all invoices are paid timely and are accurately expensed.
- Execute wire transfers as required to maintain appropriate cash positions set by management. Process incoming/outgoing member wires.
- Perform other accounting functions including, posting journal entries, reconciling bank statements daily, and other general ledger accounts as assigned. Research and resolve errors and discrepancies. File and maintain Accounting records accurately.
- Balance daily transactions for ATMs, CUDL, and Shared Branching. Research and resolve exceptions.
- Assist in submitting regulatory reports such as the Federal Reserve’s FR2900, Call report, the annual 945 and CUSO Tax Returns, quarterly CUSO estimated tax and FHLB certification, and monthly excise/use tax remittance.
- Prepare and submit reports as assigned.
- Act as backup for other accounting functions as needed.
- Provide input for revising and creating department procedures as well as testing documented procedures.
- Support the Accounting Department with other projects as needed.
Let’s talk if you:
- Have at least a two-year college degree, or completion of specialized certification, licensing or training.
- Have one to three years of accounting or related experience.
- Are able to perform basic math skills and use decimals to compute ratios, percents, interest and to draw and interpret graphs.
- Have working knowledge of accounting policies, procedures and norms.
- Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Are skilled with computers and Microsoft Office.
